NNU Sunday on October 18th! This Sunday is NNU Sunday! Northwest Nazarene University is located in Nampa, Idaho. We regularly give to NNU as an investor in our leaders of today and tomorrow. The NNU Northwesterners 16 voice choir will lead us in worship (although you will still have to put up with Pastor Brian's preaching :)). Wear your red and black to make them feel welcome. There will also be a potluck afterwards. Please bring two dishes to share. One thing you may not know is that we participate in a scholarship program with NNU. Students who attend our church receive a $2800 scholarship to NNU! Emmett Football takes on fruitland on friday This Friday, the Emmett Huskies will be taking on their rivals, the Fruitland Grizzlies. As expected, the game will decide who will be the champions of our conference. The game will be in Fruitland at 7pm. It would be great to have a good turnout to help cheer on our team! On an update from yesterday, the Emmett boys soccer team lost to Weiser in the District Championship. They play Payette tonight at 5pm in Payette to earn a spot to play for the play-in game for state. If they beat Payette, they will be playing in Lewiston on Saturday. Baby shower & Teen activity on Saturday This Saturday we have a couple activities happening at the church. First, we have a baby shower for Mandy and Finnian Hopwood. The shower will take place in Aubrey Hall at 3pm.
Second, the teens will be having their Romans 12 Steak Dinner on Saturday beginning at 5pm. For those teens who have memorized Romans 12, they will be enjoying steaks. For those who didn't quite get 'er done, you will have an opportunity to munch on hot dogs. It is not too late! Start memorizing! No matter how you slice it, this will be a fun event for all the teens.
